When Deirdre returned to London after the Covid-19 pandemic, she found herself navigating a city that, despite its millions of inhabitants, could feel remarkably isolating. Even as both a teacher and student of Pilates, she noticed how the typical studio environment, though filled with people sharing the same space, rarely fostered genuine connections. People would arrive, roll out their mats, take class, and leave - often without exchanging more than a polite smile.

This experience struck a particular chord while in her mid-20s, a time when meaningful friendships felt simultaneously crucial yet increasingly difficult to form. While London's fitness scene was thriving, something was missing - the authentic human connection that makes a big city feel like home. It was this realisation, combined with her passion for both Pilates and cooking, that sparked the idea for Pilates & Pals. She envisioned a space where the barriers between fitness classes and social gatherings could dissolve, where shared movement could naturally flow into shared meals and genuine conversation.

By weaving together her values of community and education with her passions of movement and food, Deirdre created the culture she herself had been seeking - one where people could not only strengthen their bodies but also build lasting friendships in a city that often feels too busy for connection.

Pilates & Pals events include a Pilates session - whether that's on the mat or reformer - followed by a nourishing homemade brunch prepared by Deirdre herself. The events pop up across London, with seasonal menus that cater to all dietary requirements and Pilates classes suited to every level. Deirdre can't wait to welcome you to an event and to the P&P community!

WHAT OUR PALS SAY:
"I attended my first Pilates & Pals session over the weekend and had the best time! I moved to London only a few months ago, so it was such a lovely way to meet like minded girls with an interest in fitness and general chit chat! Deirdre was so welcoming, organised and professional. Everyone was so friendly, the Pilates session great with a lot of options for varying levels and the food delicious - healthy and yummy! A very wholesome way to spend a Sunday morning. I will definitely be returning for future sessions!"
"The home cooked food made by Deirdre is incredible. The Pilates class itself is also really enjoyable. I especially love the safe and warm environment that Deirdre has curated with this event to meet new people and build connections. She is doing a wonderful thing with this and I’m so excited to see where it goes in the future! :)"
"Pilates & Pals is such a lovely way to spend a Sunday and connect with other women equally invested in their health and personal development. The workout, nibbles and vibes are the simply the best, I left in such a good mood and will be absolutely joining future events."
